| Abstract: | Presented various types of moss used in historic boatbuilding. Placement of moss used for caulking in longitudinal seams as a caulking material for waterproofing joints between strakes, in transverse seams for waterproofing joints between planks making up individual strakes. Moss used as a luting material in lapstrake planking and carvel planking Sphagnum sp., Drepanocladus vernicosus, Warnstorfia sp., Polytrichum common Antitrichia curtipendula, Neckera complanata, Thuidium tamariscinum. |
